The entire risk as to quality and performance of the software is with you . Steve McIntyre, Current leader of the Debian project announced that the next Debian release will be available to Squeeze 6 month July this year. This news is unexpected and usually each new version of Debian is released over a period of 2 years.
The reason that argues Steve McIntyre is to have Debian 6.0 completed this month to attend in New York DebConf 1 to August 7, 2010 -> http://debconf10.debconf.org/ with the prepared mind to speak only on the future of Debian.
plans are ambitious, partly because Debian and Ubuntu are now more interrelated than ever, and the timing of both projects for the release of Debian 6.0 and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS could be complicated, which itself also McIntyre said. However, all apparently designed to have the new version of Debian running for this summer.
"As the major components of our releases are shared, we are expecting to be able to synchronize in the same or similar versions of upstream and impart some of that work," McIntyre noted.
